Good with other cats?: I have been good with the other foster kittens, but I would need to be introduced to other cats.
Good with dogs?: I have not been around any dogs whilst in foster, so I am not sure how I would go.
Good with children?: I would need a quiet house, so adult only or older children might be ok.

Siblings: Lunai and Me – Maelle

Bio:

Hi, I’m Maelle! I’m a tiny wee pastel grey calico girl, and I’m still trying to work out what I think about this whole human thing.

I’m going to need a little time to come around. When you approach me, I don’t tend to bolt away — instead, I’ll usually cower and let you pick me up. But once you have me, you can feel that I’m really wanting to get away again. I’m still very unsure and don’t yet understand that being around people can be a good thing.

I’m also not particularly interested in food as a way of making friends. I don’t eat treats and I’m not even tempted by chicken! I’m not really playing at the moment either, so bribing me with toys isn’t going to work either.

What I really need is time, patience and lots of gentle people time. I think I would do best in an adult-only home with someone calm and relaxed, who has the time to let me come around at my own pace without expecting too much from me too quickly.

I honestly think there is a little girl in here who desperately wants to be loved. My little eyes follow you around, and although I’ve never quite managed a purr yet, I’m watching and taking everything in. I just need someone to help me learn that people can be safe.

I would probably be best kept inside for quite some time while I settle in and build a bond with my new person. I haven’t had enough experience with other cats or dogs for us to know how I’d feel about sharing my home with them, so for now, a quiet home where I can focus on getting comfortable with my people would be best.

I’m definitely not going to be the kitten who arrives home and immediately jumps onto your lap. I’m going to need you to be patient with me and give me the chance to discover that being loved is actually pretty wonderful. ❤️
