Bio:

Hi, I’m Obie 🐾

I had a bit of a hard start to life and I’m still learning to trust people, so I’ll need a calm, patient furever home that understands I’m still building my confidence. I’m slowly learning that humans are okay and that pats can actually be really nice things.

I can get frightened by loud noises, sudden movements, or if I think someone is too close to me too quickly. I do enjoy pats, head scritches, and tummy tickles—but definitely on my terms only. Once I feel safe and comfortable, I’m much more relaxed and happy to enjoy the attention.

I absolutely love playing with my foster sibling Cohen. We spend our days zooming around the house, chasing toys, and attempting to catch flies 😹 Foster Mumma says I’m quite the little talker too—I chirp when I’m looking for Cohen or wanting to make sure my human is nearby.

Because I’m still learning to trust, I sometimes hiss when I’m feeling unsure or scared. I’m not trying to be mean—I just don’t always know what’s happening. Usually a quiet voice, a gentle pat, or some tasty chicken helps me settle again.

I don’t really enjoy being picked up or held yet, and I’m not quite at the stage where I’ll happily come and sit on your lap, although Foster Mumma is helping me work on this every day.

I’m hoping to find a kind and understanding home willing to take a chance on me and continue helping me build trust and confidence. With patience, love, and gentle encouragement, I know I’ll grow into the lovely companion I’m meant to be 💛🐾
